Workshop: Synergy Effects Between Erasmus Mundus EMLex, Higher Education Institutions and the Private Sector
The workshop „Synergy Effects Between Erasmus Mundus EMLex, Higher Education Institutions and the Private Sector“, initiated by the EMLex, successfully took place in Erlangen on 18 February 2019. The invited speakers Jan Cloeren (PONS), Gaëlle Doualan (Inbenta), John Johnson (Zanichelli), Ilan Kernerman (K-Dictionaries) and Kathrin Kunkel-Razum (Duden) gave us many interesting insights into the work of their publishing houses and companies. After their presentations, interactive discussion rounds were held, the result of which was that we have intensified the existing cooperations and opened new paths for more cooperations. Additionally, we learned a lot more about daily work in these enterprises and publishing houses and could draw conclusions regarding the practical relevance of the curriculum in the European Master in Lexicography. Furthermore, the speaker of the Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association (EMA) Teeroumanee Nadan contributed important facts about how Erasmus Mundus master programs and today’s professional world are linked and how these links can be improved.
We thank all speakers and participants of the workshop for making this event a successful occasion to create synergy effects between the EMLex as a representative of scientific lexicography and the private sector.
