Dictionary Day on November 9, 2023
The “Dictionary Day” aims to investigate the fundamental role of dictionaries not only as a valuable tool for language learning, but also as a historical and cultural document. In this edition, the “Dictionary Stories” are also stories of curious and multifaceted characters such as Giuseppe Baretti or Francesco Valentini who became mediators between cultures; but dictionaries have also “made history,” such as that of Dmitry Ushakov who, in 1940, became the bearer of the new values of the Russian Revolution.
