Hackathon 2023
The EMLex Wiktionary Hackfest 2023 took place on Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Pontevedra Campus of the University of Vigo. This event was organized by the University of Vigo, University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) and the University of Minho. The primary aim of the Wiktionary Hackathon was to give participating students hands-on experience in collaborative lexicographic work.During the hackfest, students actively engaged with Galizionario, the Galician version of Wiktionary. This immersive experience allowed them to apply their lexicographic knowledge and skills by performing various tasks. These tasks included creating and writing new dictionary articles, editing existing articles, and contributing translation equivalents in their native languages. The event successfully provided a platform for students to translate theoretical knowledge into practical skills, fostered collaboration, and enhanced their understanding of lexicography.
