Imaginary dictionary
The imaginary dictionary was an activity, which took place in the EMLex 2020 Summer term at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela and was coordinated by Belén Méndez Naya and María Teresa Sanmarco Bande. “University lecturers, teachers, staff of the university administration, creative writers, visual artists, experts in physics, mathematics, economy, philology and traditional folk music, [..] puppeteers, undergraduate and graduate students” were asked to contribute a dictionary entry to an imaginary or invented word, in any language. In addition to the headword and the definition, the entry could contain grammatical and usage information, etymological notes, equivalents in other languages (in case of a bilingual dictionary), figures (if yours is an illustrated dictionary), etc. The result is a fine dictionary of imaginary words, which can be found here.
